Paris: Paris St Germain have sacked France midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo after he publicly challenged coach Guy Lacombe, the Ligue 1 club said on Wednesday.

"PSG confirms that Vikash Dhorasoo's contract has been terminated," a club spokesman said without elaborating. In an interview published by sports daily L'Equipe last month, Dhorasoo disputed Lacombe's tactics after he was dropped from the main squad and sent to play for PSG's amateur team.

Dhorasoo said he felt humiliated and called the coach "a liar" after which the player was summoned by club chairman Alain Cayzac, who had suspended him until further notice.

Dhorasoo, 33, joined PSG from AC Milan in 2005.

The midfielder was a member of the French squad that reached the World Cup final in July but played fewer than 10 minutes during France's campaign in Germany.

He also expressed his frustration with France coach Raymond Domenech's team selection and with the atmosphere in the national squad.

His club coach said Dhorasoo did not train with enough dedication.
