KOCHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Saturday said that the video footage of the alleged manhandling in the Assembly should be publicised so that the people would know the truth about what happened in the House. “In my opinion, the video footings should be telecast through the television channels so that the people could assess the truth,” he told reporters here. However, he said that the decision on publicising the video footage should be taken by the Speaker. Stating that the Opposition was trying to create controversies by making false allegations, Chandy said that the Opposition had earlier raised a controversy over voting in the Assembly but failed to turn up for the examination of the video footage. Chandy also said that he was in favour of live telecast of the entire proceedings of the Assembly. “The Parliament proceedings are now live. If the Opposition also cooperates, then we could think of live telecast of the entire Assembly proceedings,” he said.
