Punjab NRI panel seeks report on woman's complain
Complainant Nileshni Reddy, an NRI wife of Ravi Sidhu, has alleged that her husband had gone "missing" since April 26.

Chandigarh: Punjab NRI Commission on Wednesday issued notice to the Jalandhar Commissioner of Police and sought a report within three weeks on a complaint filed by an NRI woman against her husband.

Complainant Nileshni Reddy, an NRI wife of Ravi Sidhu, resident of Village Chotta Saipur, has alleged that her husband had gone "missing" since April 26, a spokesman of the commission said in a release in Chandigarh.

She said that she came into his contact through a social networking site and got married in August 2011 in a temple in the presence of Ravi's father.

They stayed in a hotel after marriage and then she went to New Zealand for visa extension and returned to India in January 2012.

Since January, they were staying in a hotel and her husband took her to his house only once, she claimed.

However, her husband went missing on April 26, 2012 when they were in a hotel at New Delhi, she said in the complaint.

She then contacted the family of her husband and she was told that they had already snapped ties with him. Then she filed a complaint against her husband at NRI Police Station, Jalandhar. IG NRI Affairs has been asked to supervise the progress of the investigation in the matter, spokesman said.
