Rain, rain go away

Though Chennai is gradually recovering from the unexpected rains over the week, the showers did leave a number of suburban areas inundated and mucky. From a farmer’s field being turned into a water marsh to a sand quarry-turned lake — nature’s cloudy outbreak did manage to turn things topsy turvy. As for commuters headed to work by foot, avoiding slush turned out to be near impossible. Perhaps, the only ones that enjoyed the rain’s aftermath were the ducks in Vellavedu, who found new swimming space.
