The incessant rainfall threw traffic out of gear in the city on Monday as at least 30 points in several important junctions were inundated with overflowing drain water.
According to the Met department, 31. 4 mm rainfall was recorded till late evening.
Officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) confirmed that at least 17 trees were uprooted at different locations.
Major water logging was reported at Panjagutta, SR Nagar, Jubilee Hills, Begumpet (Leela Nagar), Vengal Rao Nagar, Vivekananda Colony in Tolichowki, Basheerbagh, Koti, King Koti, Putli Bowli, Gandhi Bhavan, Raj Bhavan Road, MJ Market, Police Control Room in Nampally, Narayanguda, Chaderghat, Barkatpura, Indira Park, Ashoknagar, RTC X roads, Somajiguda, Ameerpet, Nadeem Colony, Maitri Vanam, Vidyanagar, Khairatabad, etc.
Officials said the rain was accompanied by heavy winds in certain areas.
Three trees fell down in SR Nagar while two more such cases were reported from Jubilee Hills.
Similarly, tree fall complaints were received from Panjagutta (near Hyderabad Central), Vengal Rao Nagar, Yusuf Colony in Tolichowki, Yousufguda, Madhuranagar, Ameerpet, Vivekananda Colony, Mehdipatnam, and near ESI hospital at Erragadda.
Sardar Ali Khan, assistant emergency officer, Central Emergency Squad, GHMC, said all the complaints had been attended to and taken care of.
The MeT department officials said the same weather conditions will prevail in the city for the next 48 hours.
Thunder showers have also been predicted.
On Monday, a maximum of 27 Degree Celsius and a minimum of 22 was recorded in the city.
The officials attributed the rain to the low pressure over the West Central Bay of Bengal adjacent to the North West coastal area of the State and South Coast of Orissa.
