Rajkot TRP Game Zone Manager, Partner Detained After 27 People Killed In Massive Fire
Rescue operations are underway at the affected TRP game zone and officials feared the count of casualties may go up as several people are still trapped under the debris

Hours after a massive fire broke out at a gaming zone in Gujarat’s Rajkot claiming at least 27 lives, the manager of the TRP game zone Nitin Jain and one of the partners in the facility Yuvraj Singh Solanki were detained by the police late on Saturday.

According to sources, the Game Zone has three partners — Prakash Jain, Yuvraj Singh Solanki and Rahul Rathod.

Meanwhile, rescue operations are underway at the affected TRP game zone and officials feared the count of casualties may go up as several people, including children, are still believed to be trapped.

“We had received the call at around 4.30 pm. The temporary structure in the gaming zone had collapsed. The fire was controlled around 2 hours ago. The debris is being removed. We are in constant touch with the Chief Minister,” Rajkot Collector Prabhav Joshi was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

SIT To Probe Fire Incident

Following the incident, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the entire incident. “It is very important to ensure that such an incident does not happen again. Any kind of negligence will not be entertained in this event,” Patel added.

The Gujarat Government set up a five-member SIT headed by additional DG (CID, Crime) Subhash Trivedi to investigate the gruesome game zone fire incident in Rajkot.

Responding on the incident, State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said, “Many families have lost their children in this incident. I am going to Rajkot right now. The SIT will start its investigation tonight. The administrator and the manager have been arrested.”

“A meeting will take place after visiting the fire spot and the action will start tonight. PM Modi has also taken the details from the CM. Members of the SIT are ordered to reach Rajokto by 3 am. The CM will be provided with the details tonight itself,” he added.

Gujarat DGP inspects Game Zones Across State

In view of the tragedy in Rajkot, Gujarat DGP directed the inspection of all children’s game zones across the state. All zones operating without valid fire NOC and fire safety equipment are ordered to be shut down immediately amidst allegations that the TRP gaming zone in Rajkot did not have a fire NOC.

Rajkot Bar Association’s Big Decision

The Rajkot Bar Association in a big decision announced that no lawyer of the association will fight the case of the culprits of the game zone fire tragedy.

PM Modi, Gujarat CM Express Grief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief at the loss of lives in a fire tragedy in Gujarat’s Rajkot and said the local administration is working to provide all possible assistance to those affected.

“Extremely distressed by the fire mishap in Rajkot. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. Prayers for the injured. The local administration is working to provide all possible assistance to those affected,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

Expressing grief over the loss of lives, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, “The fire tragedy in Rajkot is heart-wrenching. I express my heartfelt condolences to the persons who lost their lives in this incident and their families. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

The Chief Minister also announced that the state government will provide Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50 thousand to the injured.

“Deeply grieved at the loss of lives in the terrible fire in Rajkot. Our thoughts are very much with all those impacted by this tragedy,” External Affairs Minister S Jaishamkar tweeted.

Requesting all the Congress workers in Gujarat to provide the necessary assistance in relief and rescue operation, Rahul Gandhi also took to X and wrote, “The news of the death of many people including innocent children due to a massive fire in the gaming zone of a mall in Rajkot is very painful. I express my deepest condolences to all the bereaved families. I hope that all the injured recover as soon as possible.”
