Members of the Rajput community on Monday blocked the Ambala-Hisar national highway to protest against "distortion of facts" in a television serial on Mughal emperor Akbar, causing much inconvenience to commuters. Activists of Rajput Sabha and Rajput Youth Brigade staged the protest against television serial 'Jodha-Akbar' for showing that the Mughal emperor was married to Rajput princes Jodha.

"It was not established in any book and historical documents that Akbar was married to Jodha," said president of Rajput Sabha, Rambir Chauhan and Youth Brigade's leader, Jatinder Rana. "The Rajput community would not allow (anybody) to hurt its sentiments," they said.

The blockade was lifted after nearly an hour following persuasions by policemen.
