Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called Ayodhya’s infrastructural development as ‘Pragrati Ka Utsav’ and said there was a time when Lord Ram was ‘virajman’ under a tent shade and now, not only Ram Lalla, but also 4 crore needy people have got a permanent pucca house.
“Be it any country in the world, if a country wants to touch developmental heights, it is very important for it to preserve its heritage. And our heritage inspires us, shows us right path and it is for the same reason today’s India is a blend of old and new India and is moving along,” PM Modi said while addressing a gathering after laying the foundation of the development projects in the temple town.
“There was a time when in Ayodhya, Ram Lalla was virajman in the tent and today pucca ghar sirf Ram lala ko hi nahi balki desh ke 4 crore gareebo ko bhi mila hai (today not only lord Ram, other 4 crores needy also gets a pucca house),” the Prime Minister said.
PM Modi was on his visit to Ayodhya where he inaugurated the newly re-developed Ayodhya Junction, and newly established Maharishi Valmiki International Airport and laid the foundation of the development projects worth more than Rs 15000 crores.
He said the entire world is waiting for January 22, when Ayodhya would witness the historic moment. “I am thankful to Ayodhya ‘wasis’ for showing so much love and gratitude towards us during the road show in which it seemed that the entire Ayodhya descended on the streets. The excitement among people of Ayodhya for January 22 is quite natural,” said PM Modi, stating that on January 22, 2024 Ayodhya would see ‘Parampara Ka Utsav’.
Besides, the PM also called December 30, a historical day, stating that it was on December 30, 1943, when Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose announced independence in Andaman by unfurling the Indian national flag. “And today on this very day we are taking forward the Viksit Bharat Abhiyan,” he added.
He urged people to illuminate their homes with special diyas, termed Shri Ram Jyoti, to commemorate the day as a symbolic ‘Deepawali’.

“And the grand welcome which PM Modi got on his visit to Ayodhya gives us a glimpse of new Ayodhya,” said UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while addressing the gathering at a public rally organized during the PM’s visit to Ayodhya on Saturday.

“The Prime Minister also initiated a programme to link Lord Ram’s birthplace in Ayodhya to Mata Sita’s birthplace in Sitramarhi. While Lord Ram is believed to have arrived in Ayodhya by Pushpak Viman during the Treta Yug, the Prime Minister today gave the gift of an international airport to the people of Ayodhya,” the CM said.
