THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Indian Ambassador to the UAE M K Lokesh launched the season-II of ‘Rangoli Gulf’, a TV show on the inter-school competition in UAE, at the Wellington International School Auditorium, Dubai, the other day. ‘’Rangoli Gulf is a successful attempt of edutainment for school children and youth. It will encourage team performance among the school children. This is cultural diplomacy at its best,’’ said Lokesh Nath.Twenty schools and over 500 students from the seven emirates of the UAE will contest in the season-II of the programme. Cine actor Mohanlal who addressed the function said that Rangoli Gulf is more a celebration than competition. ‘’Rangoli Gulf is now acclaimed as an experiment in edutainment which offers a perfect platform to showcase the collective talent of school students,’’ said V Krishnakumar, MD, Symphony TV. A glittering cultural event followed the inaugural ceremony. Produced and directed by Symphony TV, the event is supported by Etisalat, GEMS Education, UAE Exchange, Khaleej Times, Radio Spice, Manipal University, Western Union and Barakat Quality Plus. The programme will be telecast in high definition format on E-vision channel, e-masala channel and Jai Hind TV.
