CHENNAI: Activists and progressive writers requested that the State hold talks with protesters at Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP), on Saturday.The panel including columnist Gnani, and writers P Jeyaprakasam, Arul Ezhilan, Chandra, and Revathi, demanded that the government should withdraw all false cases against people protesting against KKNPP and release those arrested.Noting that around 25,000 protesters had come forward to give up their right to vote by returning their voter identity card, the activists urged the State to consider the just demands of the people. Removal of Dummy FuelMeanwhile, in Tirunelveli, KKNPP site director R S Sundar said the work of opening the reactor pressure vessel and removing the dummy fuel in Unit-1 has commenced as the AERB gave its nod on May 10.
