CUTTACK: The Millennium City was struck by a successive daylight robberies on its outskirts as robbers decamped with more than Rs 2 lakh in separate incidents at Jagatpur and Choudwar on Tuesday forenoon.According to reports, an employee of the Bajrangabli Roadways company at Manguli, Suryakanta Mohanty, was coming to Jagatpur to deposit around `1.04 lakh in the bank when some motorcycle-borne miscreants waylaid him. They struck him at the uncrowded stretch of the highway just past the Birupa bridge. The miscreants snatched the money bag and the motorcycle at gun-point.In another incident, three women members of a SHG group were robbed of ` one lakh while returning after withdrawing loan money from UCO Bank at Agrahat under Choudwar police station. They were to catch a vehicle to their village, Mangarajpur, when motorcycle-borne miscreants robbed them. Cases have been filed in Jagatpur and Choudwar police stations.
