Rs 546 lakh sanctioned for lake maintenance

BANGALORE: The Standing Committee on Horticulture, BBMP, sanctioned close to Rs 546 lakhs for the maintenance of three lakes in the city. The Committee also directed BBMP to remove the encroachments surrounding the lakes in Ambaleepura and Kaigondanahalli.Rs 270 lakh was sanctioned  for the maintenance of the upper lake in Ambaleepura and for the construction of a footpath near the lake. The Committee also asked for more trees to be planted near the lakes. The officers were also  asked to send notices to apartment complexes near lakes that allow drain water into the lakes.
