It takes three watchmakers and six months to craft one Tourbillon — a skeleton watch that’s custom-made for each customer. As part of Omega’s exclusive collection, the watch that costs upward of Rs 60 lakhs is on display at the Express Avenue mall.
The exhibit includes pieces from their collection unveiled in March this year, and several other pieces like the Tourbillon that is making an appearance in the Indian market for the first time.
The exhibit was inaugurated by brand head of Omega, P S Narayanan and chairman of Helvetica, Ashok Doshi. “The one-time showcase is an expression of Omega’s commitment and contribution towards the thriving luxury market in India,” said Narayanan, while addressing the media.
Each opulent piece had a story behind it, as the staff of the boutique are eager to share. Explaining one of the highlights of a diamond studded range of watches, one of the representatives said, “Some of the watches are totally paved with diamonds. If you notice, they have specially designed diamond holders to protect the stones from falling out if it is dropped.”
This selection of the luxury watch manufacturers signature pieces will be on display at the Helvetica Watch Boutique till September 30.
