HYDERABAD: About three lakh Telangana employees who include Singareni, RTC, teachers, contract employees will not get salaries for September. Unless the government relaxes norms, salaries will not be paid to striking Telangana employees even for the 12 days they worked this month.
About 85 per cent of Telangana employees who have been on strike since September 13 will not get salaries on October 1. Except for Hyderabad city, there is almost nil attendance by Telangana employees in the nine districts of the region. There is no scope that the government will pay salaries to the strikers in spite of major festivals Dasara and Diwali falling on Oct. 6 and 26 respectively. The salaries to working staff, who mostly belong to Seemandhra region, will be paid on Oct. 1 and not on September 29 as directed by the chief minister. According to principal secretary (finance) V Bhaskar, paying salaries to the working staff on October 1 will not be a problem as the treasury has been receiving salary bills from drawing officers across the state. With regard to pensioners, there will be no problem as the government will release pension based on the amount paid last month.
