THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Eram Scientific Solutions has been chosen for the Sankalp Award, instituted by the Sankalp Forum, for 2012. The company will take home a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh for its innovation in creating Delight e-toilet, an automated public sanitation unit for urban citizens in developing countries.Sankalp Forum is an annual platform for social and sustainable ventures, a flagship initiative of the Mumbai-based Intellecap. Sankalp aims to empower the community through workshops, round tables, focused networking meetings, knowledge building publications and reports, and multiple formats for accessing investments and to recognise the best social enterprise models through the Sankalp Awards.Sankalp connects over 400 social enterprises, over 400 investors and funders, and 10,000 other stakeholders from across the world. Eram Scientific Solutions has installed 400 functional e-toilet units all over Kerala. Two units were installed on the premises of Kerala House at New Delhi also.Added to this e-sanitation revolution, Kerala is all set to be adorned as the first state in India to offer its public with Connected Toilet Infrastructure facility. This feature makes possible mapping and connecting all the e-toilet units via web and mobile, thereby making travel smoother and easier for the public and tourists alike.
