Sea bird attacks sailor

ANGAMALY: K V Renjith, the manager of the ship Amet Majesty, was attacked by a sea-kingfisher the other day.   The ship in which he was sailing was moving towards Lakshdweep from Kochi with tourists. When the ship was about 25 nautical miles away from the Indian shore, a sea bird managed to enter into the dining hall. As Renjith tried to chase away the bird with a stick, it attacked him causing serious injuries to his right eye. The ship was immediately returned to Kochi Port and Renjith was rushed to the Little Flower Hospital at Angamaly.  “He has partial eye sight now and will regain it completely in a couple of months,” Dr Aneeta Jabbar of LF Hospital said.   According to sources, incidents of sea birds’ attack on sailors have increased recently.
