PUDUCHERRY: A local court on Tuesday acquitted Naam Tamizhar Iyakkam chief Seeman for allegedly making an inflammatory speech in 2009. Principal Assistant Sessions court Judge Bhuvaneswari, while acquitting Seeman, noted that the film director did not make seditious remarks but was only expressing his sentiments for the Sri Lankan Tamils.The Odiansalai police had registered a case in February, 2009. The film director made the remarks while addressing Law college students who were on a fast-unto-death to express solidarity with Sri Lankan Tamils. He was arrested following the speech.
