HYDERABAD: In the light of Samaikhyandhra students JAC’s demand that the public representatives in Seemandhra should also resign from their posts to teach a ‘lesson’ to Telangana leaders, Seemandhra leaders appealed to the students not to get provoked and not to lose their studies by indulging in agitations. “We (Seemandhra leaders) are striving to convince the Centre to keep the state united,” they claimed.Ministers S Sailajanath, E Pratap Reddy and MLCs Paladugu Venkata Rao, R Padma Raju addressed newsmen on the Assembly premises here on Saturday. Sailajanath said they would respect the feelings of the Andhra University students against the bifurcation of the state and would work towards achieving that goal.Minister Pratap Reddy asserted that they were committed to united AP and it was not that easy to bifurcate the state. He urged the central government and the party high command to talk to the leaders of all the three regions (Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema) before taking a decision on the bifurcation issue.Senior member Venkata Rao urged the students of both the regions to leave the ‘big issue’ to the political leaders and not to agitate at the cost of their academic career.
