Senior judge files FIR against docs
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Shamsher Khan lodged an FIR against two docs, accusing them of implanting a pacemaker unnecessarily.

Noida: Just how many times has your friendly family doc advised you to pop four pills a day for a common cold that you thought could be cured with just a cough syrup?

Or have you ever been prescribed a detailed MRI scan for your regular bout of migraine?

Have you ever wondered why for that silly influenza you are made to go through a series of blood tests?

It’s true that prevention is better than cure, but it’s also true that many doctors are taking their patients for a ride by prescribing expensive and in some cases unnecessary tests.

One such case has been reported from Noida, a satellite township of New Delhi.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Shamsher Khan has lodged an FIR against two Delhi-based cardiologists, accusing them of implanting a pacemaker unnecessarily, police said.

Khan lodged the FIR at the Sector 24 police station of the town under sections 336, 418, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120 B. SSP Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Mordia has referred the case to a medical board.
