Washington: Released in more than 160 theaters in the United States and Canada, Shah Rukh Khan's latest film 'Don 2' is doing a roaring business in North America.
Taking the benefit of the Christmas and year-end holidays wherein Indian American film lovers thronged movie theaters in large numbers, Don 2 during the first 11 days of its release grossed USD 3.3 million.
'Don 2' surpassed USD 3.1 million of previous record-holder 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' starring Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar, as well as the usd 2.5 million of Khan's own 'Ra.One' which was released during Diwali.
The Farhan Akhtar-directed action thriller 'Don 2' has already grossed more than Salman Khan's 2011 hits 'Bodyguard' and 'Ready' combined.
The movie also set a new record for the all-time biggest opening week for a Hindi film in North America collecting a stellar USD 2.64 million beating the USD 2.55 million that Shah Rukh's 'My Name is Khan' earned in its first seven days in February 2010.
Co-starring Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani, 'Don 2' continues to play to large crowds in over 160 theaters across the US and Canada.
