New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday came down with a heavy hand on the prime accused in Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, suspended IPS officer R K Sharma.
The SC has dismissed the plea of Sharma for a copy of the statement recorded by the investigating officer of Shivani’s husband Rakesh Bhatnagar.
A bench headed by Justice Arijit Pasayat set aside an order of the Delhi High Court, which directed the authorities to furnish the same.
Six accused - Pradeep Sharma, Satya Prakash, Ved Praksh Sharma, Ved alias Kalu, Sri Bhagwan along with R K Sharma - are facing trial in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case.
Bhatnagar, a journalist with the Indian Express, was found murdered on Januray 23, 1999.
