Moscow: Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran is to visit Moscow next week for talks to prepare Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's agenda for the upcoming G-8 summit of the world's most industrialised democracies under the rotating presidency of Russia.
Saran would be in Moscow from May 31-June 1. Leaders India, China and Brazil are among the select world dignitaries, who have been invited by President Vladimir Putin to attend G-8 St. Petersburg summit at which global energy security and combat against epidemics are to top the agenda.
Besides dovetailing Prime Minister Singh's agenda at G-8 with Kremlin "sherpa" Igor Shuvalov, Saran will also hold talks on a wide range of issue of bilateral interest with his Russian counterpart First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Denisov, diplomatic sources said.
He is also scheduled to deliver a lecture at the Centre of Indian Studies of the Russian Science Academy's Institute of Oriental Studies.
Saran is also to attend the closing ceremony of three-day cultural festival of Delhi on May 31.
