Siblings drown in pond

SALEM: In a tragic incident on Monday evening two teen siblings drowned in a pond near Dhadagapatti. Venkatesh (15) and Prabu (11) sons of Ramajayam, a painter of Dhadagapatti, went for fishing in a pond near their house. Around 3.30 pm, Prabu who was fishing from a few feet from the bank moved into the deeper area of the pond . Suddenly he fell into the water. Venkatesh who tried to rescue his brother  also drowned. A few boys, who were watching them, alerted their parents who informed the Annadanapatti Police and the Fire brigade from Shevaipet Fire Station rushed to the pond but they could not save the boys. Their bodies were later sent to the GH.
