Grama Sabha meetings to be held on Independence Day this year will take stock of the overall functioning of the Public Distribution System in Tamil Nadu.
During the meetings to be held across the State, the records of the ration shops will be subjected to social audit. During these meetings, the public can express their views and grievances regarding the functioning of the PDS system.
Though the existing system of monitoring the functioning of the PDS was efficient, it can be further improved only with the contribution of the people, an official release here said. So the public was asked to participate in large numbers and voice their grievances.
