Sony Mobile has also officially confirmed that the ICS upgrade for the Xperia S will be arriving later this month and not any later than that.

The Xperia P is the smaller cousin of the Sony Xperia S that was launched in the Indian market in April this year. The Sony Xperia P is based on Google's Android operating system and has a 4-inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 960x540 pixels. The phone comes powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor. The device comes preinstalled with Android 2.3 but Sony will now be upgrading the device to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich later this month.

The Sony Xperia P has an 8 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash and a VGA camera in the front to aid video calling and conferencing. The Xperia P comes with an internal storage of 16 GB out of which 13 GB worth of storage will be available for the user to store his data.

Along with the upgraded operating system, Sony promises a whole new experience to the customers for which the devices have been designed. It is expected that the users in India will be receiving the upgrade first hand as the announcement has been made by Sony India.
