Superintendent of Police, Crime Records Bureau, V R Reghu Varma, who showered abuses on Chief Secretary K Jayakumar was placed under suspension on Tuesday. The action followed a report on the incident submitted by Director General of Police K S Balasubramaniam to Home Secretary Sajan Peter on Monday.
Reghu Varma paid a visit to the Chief Secretary’s office on Saturday to lodge a complaint for ignoring his name while preparing the list of state police officers to be conferred IPS. Varma, who lost his temper, talked in a harsh manner to the Chief Secretary and recorded the conversation in his mobile phone.
Deputy Commissioner (Law and Order) and Commissioner-in -charge Putta Vimaladitya probed the incident.
