The Congress is going to witness hectic political activity in the state in the coming four days beginning Friday.
Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao is organising a book release function to unveil his new book, “Padayatra My Dairy: YS Rajasekhara Reddy” in Delhi on Friday. The book will be released by AICC general secretaries Motilal Vora and Ghulam Nabi Azad at AP Bhavan. The book chronicles the events of the historic 1,400-km-long padayatra undertaken by Rajasekhara Reddy in 2003.
The release of the book by the soul-mate of the late chief minister is coming at a time when the Congress and the YSR Congress are at loggerheads over the political legacy of Rajasekhara Reddy.
KVP invited several MPs and senior leaders of the Congress to the function. PCC chief Botcha Satayanarayana left for Delhi on Thursday to participate in this programme.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao is convening a brainstorming session at Jubilee Hall here on Saturday with the present and past office-bearers of the Youth Congress. The meeting will discuss ways to strengthen the Congress in the state.
Hanumantha Rao sent invitation letters to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana, requesting them to take part in the brainstorming session.
On Sunday several heavyweights of the AICC are expected to visit Hyderabad to attend the wedding of former minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir’s daughter Parveen.
Apart from party state affairs in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad, other key leaders of the AICC AK Antony and Vayalar Ravi are also expected to attend the wedding. All these leaders, who will come to the state, are likely to discuss party matters with the chief minister and the PCC chief during their stay in Hyderabad.
The Congress coordination committee is also likely to meet under the chairmanship of Azad on Monday to take stock of the political situation in the state and discuss the party affairs.
