HYDERABAD: The state government has given permission to police to prosecute Syed Viqaruddin alias Viqar, the self-styled commander of Tehreek Galba-e-Islam, in connection with two cases of robberies of e-seva centres. Viqar also opened fire on police personnel in the city purportedly to take revenge against police firing that took after the blasts in Mecca Masjid in which several Muslims were killed.After his arrest, Viqar confessed that he was involved in robberies at e-seva centres. Viqar used the money to purchase arms for his operations.“As an Arms Act case was also registered against him, the state government has to give permission for his prosecution,’’ a police official said. The Cyberabad police would soon be filing a chargesheet in the cases.
