KOCHI: The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers Association (KGMCTA) on Tuesday submitted before the Kerala High Court that the strike by doctors would not create any hardship to the patients. The association made this submission in response to a petition filed by journalist Leela Menon praying the court to declare the doctors’ strike illegal. The court asked the doctors why the strike was launched. Counsel for the Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) submitted that the strike was related to service and wage conditions. The court directed the KGMOA to get impleaded in the petition. The KGMCTA said the strike would be held in such a manner that it would not affect the patients directly.  Private practice had been banned and working time enhanced, it submitted.
