HYDERABAD: Stating that there was no need for the state Assembly to adopt another resolution on deletion of clause 14(f) from the Presidential order, the TDP on Thursday urged the Centre to take immediate steps to delete the clause considering the Assembly resolution adopted in the past. The state-level meeting of the TDP held here on Thursday - attended by the leaders of all the regions - adopted a resolution to this effect.Though some of the Seemandhra leaders felt that the party’s resolution on deletion of clause 14(f) was against the feelings of the people of their region, they said they would abide by the party’s decision. The Assembly had unanimously adopted a resolution during Rosaiah’s tenure on the issue and there was no deviation from it now, a leader from Andhra region said.“Adopting another resolution is nothing but insulting the MLAs. It is also against the procedures and rules of the Assembly,” TDP politburo member K Yerran Naidu said. The TDP meeting also adopted another resolution demanding the Centre to declare Pranahita-Chevella and Polavaram as national projects. It also urged the government to take measures so that the state would not suffer due to the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal judgment on Krishna water sharing. “The Supreme Court so far did not admit the review petition filed by the state government challenging the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict. If the court did not admit the case at all, the Tribunal judgement will be published in the gazette and the state will not have any opportunity but to wait for 20 more years for another tribunal on Krishna water sharing,” former irrigation minister K Srihari pointed out.
