Tibet situation ‘completely under control’: China
The fate of those arrested in the crackdown is still unknown.

New Delhi: Beijing says the situation in Lhasa is completely under control and claims at least 105 protestors involved in last week's violence have now surrendered.

Official news agency Xinhua said that those who surrendered had been "directly involved in the beating, smashing, looting and arson last Friday".

But journalists in Lhasa said that the surrenders were far from voluntary.

Chinese security forces have been conducting house to house searches and rounding up dozens of suspected free-Tibet activists in an effort to quell any further protests.

The fate of those arrested is still unknown.

The deadline for protesters to turn themselves in ran out on Monday night.
