HYDERABAD: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) has deferred the Sakalajanula Samme (strike by all sections of society including government employees) to September 13 instead of September 6.A decision to this effect was taken at the steering committee meeting of the TJAC.It has taken the decision in view of the request from Hindu organisations as Ganesh festivities will begin from Sept 1 and continue till Sept 11.After the steering committee meeting, TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram said: “The sakalajanula samme will begin on Sept 13.A day before, a huge public meeting - Jana Garjana - will be organised at Karimnagar.This will signal the resumption of the movement on a bigger scale for Telangana cause.We will take advantage of the political uncertanty in the state to press for an early decision on Telangana,” he said.The TJAC chairman said that the samme will be something that the state had not witnessed earlier.Normal life would come to a standstill - schools, colleges, government offices - will not function.“Administration will have to come to a grinding halt,” he said.On September 14 and 15, all cinema halls would be shut in Telangana region since Telangana Film Chamber has already given a call to this effect.On September 17 there will be blockade of national highways and on Sept 22 there will be a rail roko.On Sept 25, Telangana activists will lay siege to the offices of the district collectors.“If there is no change in the attitude of the Centre, there will be chalo Hyderabad in October,” Kodandaram said.Ahead of the public meeting in Karimnagar on Sept 12, there will be programmes to galvanise people for the programmes.On Sept 7, banners would be put up in all villages asking the MLAs and ministers to quit their posts or they would not be allowed in the villages.On Sept 8, university students will take out rallies demanding resignation of MLAs and ministers.
