KOCHI: P U Jose, proprietor of JNB Marketing and founder leader of Kerala Merchants Union, died here on Tuesday.He was 64. An expert in tax law, he had been honoured by the state government. He had won the award for the best income tax payer. He had also won the national award for the best income tax payer for five consecutive years from 1994 to 1999.He had also served as the president of Stationery and General Merchants Association, founder president of the Socioeconomic Forum, president of the Apex Council of Commerce and Trade and chairman of the Joint Action Council of Industry and Trade Organisations.His body will be kept at the Town Hall for the public to pay homage at 1 pm on Wednesday.The funeral will be held at St Mary's Orthodox church at 4 p.m. The shops in the city will remain closed on Wednesday in honour of Jose.
