HYDERABAD: The political turmoil in the state was reflected in the mayhem on the streets caused by diversion of traffic at different points in the city, from Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Lotus Pond residence in Banjara Hills to important junctions at Khairatabad and Nagarjuna Circle. Commuters had to take a detour during the morning rush hour between 9.30 am and 10.30 am as Raj Bhavan Road was cordoned off by the Hyderabad traffic police to make it easy for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to reach the Dilkusha Guest House near Raj Bhavan to be in time for questioning by the CBI.“We have deployed close to 30 personnel from the Jubilee Hills Road to Raj Bhavan Road to prevent any inconvenience. Ambulances were allowed to ply on the blocked stretch and residents of colonies around Raj Bhavan Road as well as those employed in offices on that stretch were allowed to pass after checking their identities,” said DCP Ramakrishna.Commuters on the busy stretch had to move to Ameerpet to take a right turn towards Somajiguda due to the absence of free-right turn near the Punjagutta junction.“Only buses were allowed to take a free right at the Punjagutta signal, otherwise the chaos would have been worse. I was late by more than half an hour for work and it does not reflect well as I am still on probation. Why should the common public suffer?” asked G.Jaidev who works for a corporate bank at Raj Bhavan Road.
