Two minor girls were rescued from as many women belonging to Banchda tribe engaged in flesh trade in separate incidents, police said on Sunday.
A six-year-old girl was rescued from one Prema Bai in Mausa village in Neemuch district on July 15. The accused told police that she had purchased the girl from Nagda in 2009 from a middleman, they said.
Police booked Premabai under relevant sections of IPC and arrested her.
In another incident, a 14-year-old girl was rescued on July 18 from one Kamla Bai who had allegedly purchased the minor from Mandsaur and pushed her into prostitution.
Banchda tribe is notorious for pushing girls born in their families into prostitution. However, of late they started marrying their daughters off and are instead kidnapping minor girls from other villages, police said.
