BHADRACHALAM: Vade Dharmaiah and Sunnam Magaiah of Vissapuram village were burnt alive on Friday night on suspicion that the two tribals were practising witchcraft.According to information, Vade Pasaiah (80) died of old age on August 30.Vade Mutaiah (35) succumbed to TB on August 31.Pasaiah’s sons Veerabhadra Rao, Chander Rao, Venkatesh and Ramulu got suspicion that their father died due to witchcraft practised by Dharmaiah.The quartet thrashed Dharmaiah after tying him to a tree.To save his life, Dharmaiah reportedly told them that it was Mangaiah who practised witchcraft on their father.Following the disclosure, Pasaiah’s sons forcibly brought Mangaiah to the place and tied him to a tree.They also beat up the daughter and son-in-law of Mangaiah when they went to the latter’s rescue.Later, Pasaiah’s sons took Dharmaiah and Mangaiah into the forest and burnt them alive.Bhadrachalam tahsildar Ch Babu Rao visited Vissapuram and enquired about the missing persons.However, the villagers were tight-lipped and did not disclose anything.Rural sub- inspector Ramesh and trainee SI Mallaiah visited the spot where the two tribals were burnt alive in the forest.Pasaiah’s sons ‘threatened’ to kill the wife of Mangaiah if she disclosed anything pertaining to the incident.
