KOCHI: The discord between Kerala Strikers and Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) may force the team to change their venue from the next season of Celebrity Cricket League.Sources close to the team say that the Strikers were unhappy with the GCDA not providing even basic facilities at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor, Kochi, after collecting a huge money as ground fees. However, GCDA Secretary George Vallakkalil said, “We are taking the same amount we collect from the Indian Premier League team, Rs 10 lakh as fees and another Rs 10 lakh as deposit.” He said that he was not aware of any complaints from the owners of Kerala Strikers. He added that GCDA was willing to reduce the rent if the government intervened.Kerala Strikers manager Edavela Babu also denied that the owners, Mohanlal and Lissy Priyadarsan, filed a complained to Chief Minister regarding the negligence from GCDA.Mayor Tony Chammany said that corporation was not planning to collect tax from the match which is providing free passes to spectators.
