CHENNAI: Expressing dissatisfaction over the response of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to her demand for supporting the US-backed resolution against Sri Lanka before the United Nations Human Rights Council, Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday said “We will continue to press the Centre for supporting the US-backed resolution.”In a brief interaction with mediapersons here before leaving for campaigning in Sankarankoil for the by-election, the CM said “I had written two letters to the PM demanding that India should support the resolution brought up by the US in the UNHRC against Sri Lanka.” “Only yesterday, I got a reply from the PM but there was no commitment in it. The AIADMK is not satisfied with the PM’s response.” On the AIADMK’s prospects for the by-election to Sankarankoil, she said the party would win the by-election with a thumping margin.Rajyasabha MP V Maitreyan also reitarated that the AIADMK would continue its efforts to make the government support the resolution against Sri Lanka.
