New Delhi: After about 22 days the skeletons were first unearthed in Noida, the Uttar Pradesh government has submitted a report on the Nithari serial killings to the National Human Rights Commission.
"The Commission has received a report from the state government. We shall see the report and take appropriate action," as quoted by PTI, NHRC chairman V Shivraj Patil told reporters in Lucknow on Saturday.
He said the Commission had taken suo motu cognizance of the incident and issued notices to the state chief secretary and director-general of police over alleged sexual abuse and murder of children in Nithari village in Noida.
The full commission is here at present to hear cases of human rights violations in the state.
Police first found skeletons of eight children in Noida on December 29.
At least 38 children have disappeared from Nithari village in the last two years.
After much goof up the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken up the probe from Noida Police on January 10.
