TIRUCHY: A resident of Pudukkottai was charged with selling 3.90 acres of land through bogus documents on Wednesday.In a complaint to the SP here, N Kesavan of Ponnamaravathi in Pudukkottai, an employee in the Valparai estate, said he had pledged his 3.90-acre land in Kuntoor in Tiruchy to Nila Manian alias T Subramaniam for `5 lakh on July 5, 2006.The moneylender reportedly made Kesavan and his wife sign on a blank sheet of paper. He took the power of attorney document from Kesavan the next day. Five days after the money changed hands, Subramanian tried to sell the land.When Kesavan got whiff of it, he got the power of attorney document invalidated on February 22, 2007.“But, without our knowledge, Subramanian sold the land to two persons,” the complainant alleged. “He forged all the documents and sold the land to a person from Tiruchy.”
