Welfare corporation for backward communities

KANICHUKULANGARA: Finance Minister K M Mani has said that a high-level meeting will be held for taking steps in connection with the formation of a welfare corporation for the backward communities. Mani, who arrived to inaugurate a public function in connection with the foundation laying ceremony of Vellappally Natesan Sapthati Memorial Union office building here, was speaking to the media on Sunday.“The government will give pivotal importance for the welfare of backward classes and will take necessary steps in this connection,” he said.SNDP general secretary Vellappally Natesan said that within 100 days of the UDF Government’s rule, it could perform many welfare programmes including rice at `1 per kg scheme. The UDF Government has taken many helpful measures for the layman, he said.Coir and Health Minister Adoor Prakash and Minister for Panchayat and Social Welfare M K Muneer spoke on the occasion.
