BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said that he will continue to persuade Governor H R Bharadwaj to give his consent for appointment of Justice S R Bannurmath as Lokayukta.“There is no change in the government’s stance on choosing Bannurmath as Lokayukta as all legal procedures and constitutional formalities have been observed. I had earlier met the Governor on the issue, and will once again meet him shortly to make him agree to the recommendation,” Gowda addressed reporters here on Saturday.When his attention was drawn to Bharadwaj’s statement that it is not possible to agree to the government’s recommendation, the chief minister said, “There were many things which were impossible initially but later became possible.”The CM also disclosed that the government intends to hold a ten-day Legislature session in January starting with the Governor’s address to the joint session. “The dates for the session will be fixed in consultation with the leaders of the Opposition of both the houses. I have already discussed the issue with former CM B S Yeddyurappa,” Gowda added.
