Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a day-long visit to Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to launch multiple development projects in the three states, promised to bring India into the top economies of the world in his third term on Friday. The prime minister’s big pitch comes months ahead of the 2024 General elections set to take place later this year.
Addressing the public in Maharashtra’s Solapur, PM Modi said, “In the 3rd term of our Central government, in my next term, India will be in the top three economies of the world. I have given this guarantee to the people of India that in my next term, I will bring India into the top three countries of the world. This is my guarantee.”

PM Modi began his three-state visit in Maharashtra by laying the foundation stone of eight Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) projects worth around 2,000 crore.
Further, the Prime Minister dedicated 15,000 houses to the Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur, whose beneficiaries include thousands of handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, Bidi workers, and drivers, among others.
PM Modi Gets Emotional
PM Modi became a little emotional while talking about the houses built under PMAY-Urban scheme in Solapur. “I went and looked at the buildings and thought ‘I wish even I had a house like that when I was little’,” he said.
“When the dreams of thousands of people come true, their good wishes are amongst my biggest achievements,” he added.

After inaugurating developmental projects in Maharashtra, PM Modi travelled to Bengaluru in Karnataka where he inaugurated the new state-of-the-art Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) campus and launch the Boeing Sukanya Program aiming to support the entry of girl children from across India into the country’s growing aviation sector.

Adressing the gathering in Bengaluru, PM Modi said “Even in the aviation and aerospace sectors, we are creating new opportunities for women.” He added that 15 percent of pilots in India are women, which is three times the global average.

The success of Chandrayaan has increased the scientific temperament of Indians said Modi, adding that the country is a hub of STEM ( Science, Technology Engineering, and Mathematics) education.
India has become the third largest domestic aviation market in the world with the potential to increase its domestic passengers number in the coming years, said PM during the inauguration event of the new Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center campus.
“In view of the rising demands, airlines have placed orders for many new aircraft. It is right time for Boeing and other international companies to link their growth with India’s rapid growth,” asserted PM Modi.
“India is a talent pool with a stable government and has a policy approach for Make in India.” said PM Modi.

While addressing the gathering, people started chanting ‘Modi-Modi’ to which, PM replied “Mukhyamantri ji (Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah) aisa hota rehta hai.”
Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Assembly, R Ashoka, and Boeing Chief Operating Officer, Stephanie Pope, were among those present on the occasion.
