BANGALORE: A woman, along with her two sons, committed suicide by jumping into a pond at a quarry near Srinivasapura Bande off Bangalore International Airport Road in Yelahanka police station limits. Though the incident came to light on Friday morning, it is suspected that the three might have jumped into the pond on Thursday night.The identities of the deceased has not yet been established.The woman is aged around 30 years, while the boys are aged between two and three years.The police said that some passers by noticed the bodies floating in the pond on Friday morning and informed the police. The police rushed to the spot and fished out the bodies from the pond with the help of local residents.“The mother had tied her children around her waist with a veil so that they could not escape.All the three were wearing new clothes and it appears they had celebrated Ganesha festival together. But, no residents of the surrounding areas were able to identifying them and it is suspected that they might have come from some surrounding villages. Even the reason for them taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained,” the police added.The police have also ruled the chances of any foul play behind the deaths.The police have shifted the bodies to M S Ramaiah Hospital mortuary.Yelahanka police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating.
