THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) here on Sunday organised a high-level workshop on ‘Improving medico-social relationship’. In the workshop, a common demand that was raised was that people affected with diseases should not be called patients. It was high time the doctors treated them as ‘fellow beings’. District president of IMA Dr Sreejith said that they have given shape to a scheme that would provide medical aid to ‘fellow beings’ who needed emergency medical attention. Besides Dr Sreejith, Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat president P Ramani, Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation Health Committee Chairperson Pushpalatha, City Corporation opposition leader Johnson Joseph and several experts in the field of medical practice also attended the workshop.
