Young athlete may miss Bangkok event due to delay in passport issuance
Tadvi and his coach are scheduled to leave for New Delhi on May 16, to participate in the Asian Youth Championship, to be held in Bangkok on May 21-22.

Nashik: Nashik-based 16-year-old athlete Kisan Tadvi, who recently won a gold medal in 3,000 metres running event at the 11th Youth National Athletic Championship in Goa, is struggling to get his passport ready to participate in an international championship in Thailand this month.

Tadvi, a student of Bhonsala Military School, told reporters on Wednesday that he had applied for passport under 'Tatkaal scheme' on April 30 along with a certificate issued by district collector and other related documents but has still not received the passport.

"District collector Vilas Patil has already issued a certificate required for urgent issuance of passport and had also spoken to passport officials here," he said.

Tadvi said that his coach Vijendra Singh has already received his passport. The sportsman feared that any further delay in the issuance process might ruin his chances to make it to the competition.

Tadvi and his coach Singh are scheduled to leave for New Delhi on May 16, to participate in the Asian Youth Championship, to be held in Bangkok on May 21-22.
