Zimbabwe in the eye of an N-storm
Zimbabwe in the eye of an N-storm
Zimbabwe is taking the same stance as Iran, saying the uranium found in the country will be used to boost electricity generation.

Zimbabwe: The West may soon have a reason to look beyond Iran.

Zimbabwe's President, Robert Mugabe, says deposits of uranium have been found in the country, which would make it easy for Zimbabwe to start its own nuclear power programme.

Remarkably Mugabe 's using the same reasoning as Iran ? that Zimbabwe suffers from a chronic shortage of energy and that the uranium would be used boost electricity generation in the country.

Mugabe has stated that Zimbabwe will not pursue a nuclear weapons programme

This announcement by Mugabe, whose regime is known for its close relations with Iran (now in the eye of a nuclear storm), is certain to irritate the West.
