When hair gets oily, it can be hard to simply wear it down without it looking limp and, well, greasy. But greasy hair can actually hold styles better than freshly washed locks. Give your hair a day off from sudsing, and just try these quick and easy second-day hairstyles!
French Braid
Amp up your classic French braid with this punky look. Use a comb to part hair into three sections (one down the center and two down the sides). Apply a dime-size amount of styling powder to your fingertips as you French braid each section of hair. Twist the ends of the three braids together. Pull them over one shoulder, securing with a hair tie. Then finish with a shine spray for a silky boost!
The Braided Bun
A top-knot is something you can wear anytime and anywhere. It’s the best and easiest ‘do for when you are running late for work or if you have oily hair. Just amp it up a bit by wrapping a braid around your knot. Make your usual top knot and make sure to leave a small section of your hair and braid it when you’re done with the knot. Wrap the braid around your bun and you’re good to go.
Tuck and Roll
Headbands are a greasy-haired girl's best friend. They hide some of the oil on top, and help keep hair on the bottom out of the way. It's a win-win. Part your hair from the middle and take a small section of your hair from either side of it. Start twisting your hair and tie both the sides together when you reach the nape of your neck. Gather the rest of your hair in a bun and pin it up at the point you had tied both the twisted sections.
Side-Swept Chignon
Get a classic side-swept chignon in no time! Rub a styling cream between your hands and apply to dry ends. Then twist hair into a knot below your ear.
Mohawk Bun
Stand out amongst the crowd with this uber chic and badass hairdo. Take a thick section right at the front of your hair and make either a french fishtail braid or your usual french braid, starting from your hairline. When you reach the top of your head, stop braiding and a tie a messy bun. Leave the rest of your hair open and you’re ready to rock the day with this awesome hairstyle.
