AIFW 2017: Fashion Cannot Live Without Androgyny, Says Rohit Kamra
He's of the view that androygny has always been there and that now it's coming back in an even bigger way.

The likes of Tarun Tahiliani, Anju Modi, Rina Dhaka, Abraham & Thakore showcased their exquisite collections at the recently concluded Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter'17.

The last day of the 4-day long fashion extravaganza had in store an impressive line-up of menswear with designers like Rohit Kamra, Dhruvv Vaish, Sahil Aneja, Pawan Sachdeva and Komal & Ratul Sood.

"Men cannot live without women and fashion cannot live without androgyny," said Rohit while speaking to News18.com.

The designer explained that bringing Richa on ramp as the showstopper was his take on androgyny.

He further said that Richa can look equally elegant in a princessy gown as in a formal suit. "It's not about looks but how you carry is what is fashionable. And Richa I knew could kill it!"

He's of the view that androygny has always been there and that now it's coming back in an even bigger way.

Richa, too, resonated with Kamra's point of view and added, " All kinds of energies we can channel - masculine energy also."

"I feel you're feminine because you're born a woman but you can also be powerful and wear the pants in a man's world and still be cool," she said.

His collection spanned monochrome hues mainly dealing with shades of black, white and grey. The designs explored variations of chequered pants, pleated jackets, formal suits and sequined half jackets.
