The month of monsoon is approaching fast, a time considered very auspicious for the devotees of Lord Shiva. During this month, they are expected to engage in Lord Shiva’s worship. This year, an auspicious event is occurring after 72 years.
This year, the monsoon period is going to start on July 22 and will end on August 19. As per the information given, the start date is a Monday while the end date is also a Monday, an extremely rare coincidence happening after 72 years. A total of five Mondays will pass in the month. More information states that July 22 will be the day of Priti yoga, which will be observed from morning till evening.
According to Nagar Vyas Pandit Kamlesh Vyas, the month of monsoon is going to last for 29 days. The first Monday is on July 22, the second will be on July 29, the third on August 5, the fourth on August 12 and the fifth, also the last, on August 19. Last year, the month had eight Mondays, due to excess mass. While the period of Chaturmas also went on for five months instead of four.
Devotees will have to observe four fasts of Mangala Gauri, 3 of which will fall on Tuesdays. The first fast is on July 23, the second on August 3, the third on August 6 and the fourth on August 13.
Pandit Kamlesh Vyas mentioned further that the month of Ashadha has started and from July 15, the muhurat for marriage will commence. After the Bhadalya Navami Abujh Muhurat from July 15, there are six more muhurats, this month, the Pandit added. The Devshayani Ekadashi is on July 17. For marriage, the dates of July 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 are believed to be auspicious times.
